NRA Concealed Carry

The United States has the Second Amendment, your fundemental right to keep and bear arms. There are some caveats to that right. You have the right to own a car, but you still need a license to drive it. If you park your car in a no-parking zone, you’re going to have a bad day. In the same way, we have rules about carrying firearms that vary by state and locality.

Concealed Carrying is having a firearm, typically a pistol, on your person, but hidden from public view. This could be a pistol in a holster under your jacket, tucked in a purse, in an ankle holster, or anywhere it’s not publicly visible. There are laws and paperwork about concealed carrying. In some places it requires a permit, others it’s completely legal, and in almost every jurisdiction there are places you just can’t carry anything at all.

Apex’s Concealed Carry course teaches you the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. This NRA Certified Course is intended for all individuals, regardless of previous shooting experience. Our instructor will give you direct instruction from start to finish and may be given in a classroom or firing range setting.

The class covers firearm safety, pistol nomenclature, selecting an appropriate pistol for self-defense, basic defensive skills, drawing from concealment, concealment, and the mindset to carry a concealed pistol. Your instructor will prepare you to meet the State’s requirements for a Concealed Carry Permit (we typically teach the course for Pennsylvania. Reach out to us if you’re from a different state).

Our students will receive reference books, take the NRA CCW Student Exam, and upon successful completion receive an NRA Certificate for the course.

Live fire training may be offered as part of the course, but is not guaranteed in every session.
