The Basic Pistol course is your introduction to safely owning and operating a pistol. This course covers everything from essential gun safety to successful range marksmanship. Our goal is to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to operate a handgun safely.

This course is taught in two parts: a class session and a range session. We’ll cover core knowledge in the classroom session, including: gun safety, operation, storage, maintenance, and selecting an appropriate pistol. Students will practice marksmanship, demonstrate range safety, and proper operation of their pistols under the guidance of our instructors on the range.

Students will complete the course with a Pistol Shooting Student Examination. Upon successfully passing the exam, they will receive a course completion certificate as well as:

• Essential gun safety rules
• Different types of pistols and which one is best for you
• The basics of ammunition
• The fundamentals of pistol shooting
• Different shooting positions
• The most common shooting errors
• Proper gun cleaning and maintenance
• How to maintain your skills
